This past November, Ohio State Senate leader Tom Niehaus, a Republican, put a stop to the bill that would be a national leader in stringent state restrictions on abortion, citing concerns that it might be deemed unconstitutional under the Supreme Court ruling of Roe v. Wade. The “heartbeat bill” would protect unborn children once their hearts begin to beat, which happens at approximately 6 weeks of gestation. Please encourage Tom Niehaus to remember the best for his unborn constituents when considering whether or not to pursue the pieces of legislation that come across his desk each year. With 24,764 induced pregnancy terminations reported in Ohio for 2011 alone, the ramifications are huge.
Please contact your state senator today and ask them to continue fighting for the voiceless unborn in Ohio!
